Completing a decade of existence, M. Mictian and Eregion tell us how were these 10 years of Unearthly and the prospective about the “Age Of Chaos”, their newer album, that will be released on june. Let's know a little more about one of the more representatives extreme metal brazilian bands and your "chaotic sound".

1 - Thanks for the interview conceded to Heavy’Olution Metal Zine. Introduce the band to our readers who don't know Unearthly and tell us a little bit about this first decade of the horde.
M.Mictian: Unearthly was formed in the middle of 1998 by me and by our ex-vocal. In 2000, our first demo was released: “Blessed Are The Destroyers Of False Hope...”, in 2001, the second CD-demo:“Living Under The Sign Of Blasphemy”.In the same year we signed with Encore recs to record our first album: “Infernum-Prelude To A New Reign”, that was released in 2002, also licensed in United States. In the end of 2003, Black Metal Commando was released and we had some changes on our line-up, but still active. We performed a tour on Northeast in 2004, released the “Unmercyful Personalized Bestiality” in 2007 and performed a South American tour, successfully, where we recorded “Revelations Of Holy Lies... live!” and “Age Of Chaos”, our new CD, that will be released in the begin of june.
2 - The live album: "Revelations Of Holy Lies... Live!” was released by Free Mind Records, that also did "Infernum - Prelude To A New Reign" and "Black Metal Commando". Was it a wish of you guys to re-release these albuns or was it proposed by the label? How is being the acceptance, distribution and divulgation of the new album?
M.Mictian: Yes, ti was a wish of mine to re-release the 2 albums. There were some people who didn't know our old albums and they'd like to buy them but they were out of catalog, so I proposed Freemind Records and they liked, then they did a "pack" and released also the live album. The response is being very good, better than we realesed them for the first time. It's being distributed in almost all countries and we are receiving good comments. .
3 - In november, Unearthly celebrate 11 years on the road. Is the new album a "pre-celebration" of that, a tribute to the fans?
M.Mictian: Well, it's true that we staied some years without recording something totally with new songs, but this new album will not celebrate our 11 years, it'll confirm our position, because we never stopped our records and shows. We've been active. “Age Of Chaos” is the sequence of Unearthly work and we want to share it with our fans.
4 – Is there any plan to celebrate it, like a tour?
M.Mictian: We love to play on stage, we don't fear that cause we feel good..so we never stop to play in concerts and we are working to play on a new tour, but we want a good support, we can't just go and perform some concerts without divulgation, without support.. it's not interesting to us.. We wanna do something that brings satisfaction.
Eregion: Play in concerts is a band priority. We always practice a lot to be ready to go to the stages and do our best to our public.
5 - Unearthly had some changes on the line-up and we can't deny that the sound changed along these 11 years. Were these changes due the changes on the line up of the band?
M.Mictian: I don't believe that these changes influenced our music. What really happens is that we've been through a musical evolution and it's normal. I would be worried if we were stagnated, playing always the same things, repeating... Changes come because not always we have musicians who work intensely.
6 - How could the band define "Age Of Chaos"?
M.Mictian: “Age Of Chaos” is chaotic, fast, heavy, crusty, I could say that it's our best album. The musics are more elaborated and more cadenced. We got a good production, The studio and productor also contributed in the process. It's a mix of black and death metal, a perfect union between these two genres.
Eregion: It's a thematic album about the world. We'll talk since Maha Kali to our visions about the world we live. Expect the best, it'll be part of the latin extreme metal history!
7 - Unearthly already shared the stages with great names of the world scene like: Enthroned, Obituary, Behemoth and several others. Was it an influence to the the new album composition?
M.Mictian: I'm pretty sure that it wasn't!
The others band don't influence us to compose our music. We looked up to the bands you cited, we respect them, but definitely our music is original, something peculiar, it comes from inside us. Our songs are originals, I could say that we search something inside us when we compose, I don't think that it's interesting for a band to mirror another to compose.
8 - The first studio album: “Infernum - Prelude to...” was also released in United States and Canada. How was the divulgation process on Noth America? Did you receive invite to concerts? And in the "Old World", Unearthly plans to make an european tour to take the chaotic sound to the Hell-Bangers in there?
M.Mictian: The divulgation there was pretty good, we had several interviews on american magazines and received some invites to concerts, but in that time our vocal left the band so we had several line-up problems and these concerts didn't happen. About Europe, we are working for that, but we need that our releases arrive there..so we can go with a better support.
Eregion: Exactly. We have some proposals. But we can't just go without support. Unearthly is our job, everyone in the band are musicians, it's our lives, we can't be amateur, so we need a better support till there.
Which are the future Unearthly projects?
M.Mictian: We are releasing a new album, let's be on the road and perform a lot of concerts over Brasil. We'll spread this record and take our message to the maximum number of people. We signed for a new video-clip. We have a lot of work.
A message to the fans
M.Mictian: Acquire our new album. You surely won't regret, it's the pure extreme metal... Each one of us did the best on this album and soon we'll be in concerts celebrating with you all!

Completando uma década de existência da banda Unearthly, M. Mictian e Eregion, nos conta como foi a passagem por estes 10 anos de banda, e sobre o tão aguardado “Age Of Chaos”, o mais novo álbum da banda, que será lançado no mês de junho. Vamos conhecer um pouco mais sobre uma das maiores representantes do metal extremo nacional, e o seu “caos sonoro”!

1 - Agradeço pela entrevista cedida ao Heavy’Olution Metal Zine. Apresente a banda aos nossos leitores que ainda não conhecem a Unearthly, e nos fale um pouco sobre essa primeira década da horda?
M.Mictian: Unearthly foi formado em meados de 1998 por mim e pelo nosso ex-vocalista, em 2000 lançamos nosso primeiro trabalho “Blessed Are The Destroyers Of False Hope...”, em 2001 o segundo CD-demo “Living Under The Sign Of Blasphemy”, no mesmo ano assinamos com o selo Encore recs para gravar nosso primeiro álbum “Infernum-Prelude To A New Reign” de 2002 também licenciado nos Estados Unidos. No Final de 2003 Black Metal Commando é lançado, sofremos com mudanças de formação, mas continuamos na ativa. Em 2004 fizemos uma tour pelo nordeste, em 2007 lançamos “Unmercyful Personalized Bestiality” e embarcamos numa tour Sulamericana muito bem sucedida onde gravamos “Revelations Of Holy Lies... live!” e o “Age Of Chaos” nosso CD novo que será lançado no inicio de junho.
2 - O álbum ao vivo "Revelations Of Holy Lies... Live!” foi lançado pela Free Mind Records que também relançou "Infernum - Prelude To A New Reign" e "Black Metal Commando". Era um desejo de vocês relançarem estes álbuns ou foi proposta da gravadora? E como esta sendo a aceitação, distribuição e divulgação deste álbum?
M.Mictian: Era sim um desejo meu, relançar os dois primeiros álbuns da banda. Tem muita gente que não conhecia nosso material antigo e queria ter e os mesmos estavam fora de catalogo, eu fiz a proposta para a Freemind Records e eles gostaram, então fizeram um pacote e lançaram junto também, o álbum ao vivo. A repercussão está sendo muito boa, bem melhor do que quando os discos foram lançados pela primeira vez. A distribuição está chegando a quase todo país e estamos recebendo bons comentários sobre isso. .
3 - Em novembro, a Unearthly comemora 11 anos de estrada, este novo álbum seria uma pré-comemoração destes 11 anos, um tributo aos fãs?
M.Mictian: Bem é verdade que ficamos alguns anos sem lançar material totalmente de músicas inéditas, mas esse novo disco não vem comemorar os 11 anos de vida da banda e sim ratificar a nossa posição, porque nunca paramos de lançar álbuns e fazer shows sempre estivemos na ativa “Age Of Chaos” é a seqüência do nosso trabalho com o Unearthly e que queremos dividir com nossos fãs.
4 - Existem planos de fazer esta comemoração na estrada, em uma turnê?
M.Mictian: Somos uma banda que adora estar no palco, não o tememos, é ali que nos sentimos bem então nunca paramos de fazer shows e estamos sim trabalhando para sair em breve uma turnê, mas queremos ir com um bom suporte não adianta sair em turnê e fazer meia dúzia de shows sem divulgação sem apoio isso não nos interessa queremos fazer algo que satisfaça a nós e ao nosso público.
Eregion: Fazer shows é uma prioridade para nós todos da banda, sempre ensaiamos bastante para estarmos sempre prontos para irmos pro palco e mostramos o que “de melhor” nós temos ao nosso público.
5 - O Unearthly passou por muitas mudanças em sua formação, e não há como negar que ouve algumas mudanças na sonoridade da banda ao longo desses 11 anos. Essas mudanças se devem as alterações na formação da banda?
M.Mictian: Não creio que as mudanças tenham influenciado no som da banda. O que acontece é que a banda passa por uma evolução musical através dos anos, e isso é normal, eu ficaria preocupado se ficássemos estagnados fazendo sempre as mesmas coisas e nos repetindo isso sim seria preocupante. As mudanças ocorrem porque nem sempre temos músicos dispostos a trabalhar intensamente com uma banda.
6 - Como a banda definiria o novo álbum, "Age Of Chaos"?
M.Mictian: “Age Of Chaos” é caótico, rápido, pesado, ríspido, eu diria que com certeza é nosso melhor álbum. As músicas estão melhores acabadas e bem lapidadas, conseguimos uma boa produção, o estúdio e o produtor também ajudaram nesta busca de melhorar as nossas canções. É um místico de black com death metal, uma alquimia perfeita entre essas duas vertentes do metal extremo.
Eregion: É um álbum temático que contará todas as mazelas do mundo. Vamos falar desde Maha Kali e nossa visão deste mundo em que vivemos. Aguardem, este álbum será um marco na história do metal extremo latino.
7 - A Unearthly já dividiu os palcos com grandes bandas do cenário mundial como, Enthroned, Obituary, Behemoth assim como muitas outras, estas experiências de alguma forma influenciaram na composição do novo álbum?
M.Mictian: Não com certeza não!
Nunca nos espelhamos em outras bandas para compor nossas músicas. Admiramos estas bandas citadas, temos respeito por elas, mas com certeza a nossa música é bem nossa, é algo bem peculiar, vem do nosso interior. As nossas canções são originais, eu diria que buscamos algo dentro de nós para compormos, não creio que seja interessante uma banda se espelhar em outra pra fazer suas músicas.
8 - O primeiro álbum de estúdio, “Infernum - Prelude to...” foi lançado também nos Estados Unidos e Canadá, como a foi a divulgação na América do Norte? Houve convite para shows por lá? E no Velho mundo o Unearthly tem planos em fazer uma excursão para levar o caos sonoro aos ouvidos dos Hell-Bangers europeus?
M.Mictian: Foi uma boa divulgação por lá sim, fizemos varias entrevistas em magazines americanas e recebemos alguns convites sim para shows, mas na época nosso vocalista acabou saindo da banda tivemos vários problemas de formação e estes shows acabaram não acontecendo, sobre a Europa estamos nos preparando sim, mas precisamos dos nossos álbuns lançado lá para podermos ir com um suporte maior então estamos trabalhando nisso.
Eregion: Exato. Propostas nos temos até bastante. Mas acontece que não podemos simplesmente ir de mochileiros o Unearthly é nosso trabalho, todos na banda são músicos e vivem da música, nós não podemos fechar as coisas de forma amadora, então precisamos de um suporte melhor lá.
Quais são os projetos para o futuro da banda Unearthly?
M.Mictian: Estamos lançando um novo álbum, vamos cair na estrada e fazer muitos shows pelo Brasil. Divulgaremos ao máximo este disco e levaremos a nossa mensagem ao máximo de pessoas possíveis, deveremos gravar um clipe novo para o álbum temos muito trabalho pela frente.

M.Mictian: Adquiram o novo álbum com certeza não irão se decepcionar é puro metal extremo... Demos o máximo de nós nesse disco e em breve estaremos na estrada fazendo shows e celebrando com todos vocês!
